Out of the rat race…sort of.
As of July 19th 2019, I did the unthinkable.
That’s a lie.
I did something I never thought I would do though.
I quit my full term, hospital job that paid well, had benefits, 5 weeks of vacation, pension and was close to the top for senority.
That’s a partial lie.
The truth, I did quit my full time …in order to become .2 EFT (means I work two shifts every two weeks). The thing about this is that I can easily pick up to a full time if I want to and I still have partial benefits and I didn’t lose any of my senority or pension!
So, I am partially out of the rat race. I am just easing myself out of keeping up with the jones’s. This definitely isn’t your typical story of someone quitting their job to follow their passion. I don’t know what my passion is to tell you the truth. I still need to pay bills and save for retirement while I am on the hunt for a new job.
You are probably wondering why I decided to work less? Being frustrated with management at work and the work environment not so great definitely helped make the leap much easier! But the main reason is: I met a man on Bumble 3 years ago.
Yes, he is worth it. But you will hear a LOT more about him since he plays a vital role in my life right now!
So how is the job hunt going you ask? haha. It is fan-didly-tastically going nowhere. All I’ve ever known is healthcare. For me and my’ BumbleBae’ to go away in the winter, I need to be able to do something computer related. Problem is that I am kind of computer illiterate. Not only that, I don’t think I even like computers that much. When I see all the opportunities and options out there that are computer related, my fancies are not tickled. Anything computer sounds kind of horrid, but the lifestyle it brings …thats what I am attracted to.
Alas, time will only tell what I make of myself. As for now, I am picking up shifts at work and figuring out this thing called blogging.
